Herbert Arend

Herbert K. Arend, 61 of Toledo, OH, passed away October 27, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Mercy Hospital. Herb was born February 13, 1963 to father, Herbert J. Arend and mother, Carol J. Lutomski, in Toledo, OH. He proudly served his country as a soldier of the U.S. Army Infantry and in the Ohio National Guard. Herb was a man of few words. He enjoyed his peace and solitude. When he did have something to share it was usually humorous. He had a craft in many trades: carpentry, construction, and farming. If you didn’t find him helping his sister and brother- in-law on the farm you could find him outback of his buddy Dan’s, soaking up the sun. 

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed taking his grandchildren on adventures. Surviving Herb is his mother, Carol McEwen; son, Kodee Arend; daughter, Kelsie Arend; grandchildren, Jayveion, Dawsyn, Hensley, Renezmay; sisters, Beth (Kurt) Ackerman and Julie (Greg) Powell. Herb had a childlike relationship with God. He knew he was loved “Just as I Am”. We rest in knowing he is at peace and to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ. Memorial contributions made to family will be put in an education fund for Herb’s grandchildren.
