Helen Myrice, 96, of Columbus and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Arlington Court Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 27, 1917 in Detroit, MI to George and Pauline Lagos and during the 1960’s up until the early 1990’s owned and operated the Bee Gay Inn Tavern in East Toledo. She was an avid Bingo player and loved her dogs.
She is survived by her son, John Porentas; grandson, Robert Porentas; brother, George (Donna) Lagos and sister, Mary Mather. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anna Coker; and husbands John Porentas, Sr., John Blake and Richard Myrice.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 11-1 p.m. where the Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Toledo Humane Society.
