Helen Molnar

August 18, 1954 — February 3, 2025

Helen Jo Molnar, 70, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg with her son beside her. She was born to James and Myrtle (Swanson) Gibbons in Oregon on August 18, 1954. She would go on to graduate from Waite High School in 1972 and eventually meet the love of her life, Robert Molnar. They married in February of 1974 at St. Stephens Church and celebrated 50 years of marriage. Together, they raised two children.

Helen remained home and dedicated full attention to her children during the early years and was very active with Holy Rosary Catholic School where her children attended. Helen would frequently work and volunteer her time to the school in support of her children. Later in life, Helen worked part-time for several years as a clerk for the Oregon Meijer store. Helen would frequently reminisce of time spent living in the Birmingham neighborhood alongside her family and friends. Helen had an extreme amount of love and interest in Lake Erie and the large freighter ships which is reflected in her final wish. She would frequently go down to watch them arrive and depart and even knew all their names including what they transport. Helen loved shopping, particularly TV shopping networks. Helen loved her two grandchildren and provided endless support to their interests and endeavors.

Helen is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Jeffrey Molnar; grandchildren James Klorer, Ashleigh Molnar; sister, Sandra Bodi; lifelong friends Carol and Kathy and many close cousins and extended family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and daughter Jennifer Molnar.

Family and Friends will be invited to a future celebration of life and memorial in accordance with the final wish request of Helen to honor her memory.
