Helen J. Losie, 94, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She was born May 28, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Mary (Morris) Hasapes and was a 1940 graduate of Clay High School.
Helen worked at various places including the Wall street Journal as a secretary and then in supervisory positions at Leister Game Co., Hunt Foods and Colonial Insurance Co. After her kids were grown, Helen opened Helen’s Wedding Service where for over 43 years, she helped over 500 brides. A faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church, Helen enjoyed gardening, sewing and embroidery but most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her loving children, Kenneth (Barbara) Losie, Richard (Barbara) Losie, Barbara (Robert) Bicanovsky, Howard (MaryAnne) Losie Jr., Leonard “Fred” (Diane) Losie, Janice (Kenneth) Belkofer and Merry Spoores; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Howard R. Losie; brothers, George and Tom Everett, Theo, Frank and Harry Hasapes; sisters, Norma Stevens, Anna McClintock, Ethel Hasapes, Dorothy Hamman and Catherine Lloyd and great-grandsons, Shane Jones and Jerry Lee Murry.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Christ United Methodist Church with the family to receive guests one hour prior.
