Guy Alan Pitzen

July 28, 1961 — May 13, 2024

Curtice, Ohio

Guy Alan “Tiger” Pitzen, age 62, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Monday, May 13, 2024. Guy was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 28, 1961 to Robert, Sr. and Anna Mae (Miller) Pitzen and the world became so much brighter with his smile. He worked as a spray painter at Jeep, retired in 2004, and found joy in many of life’s little pleasures. Guy loved caring for his aquarium and pets and talking about them to others. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening and talking on his CB radio, and gazing at the stars on clear nights. Not many things made him happier than putting a smile on a child’s face so he would learn different magic tricks to amaze them. He loved caring for his lawn and the smell of the freshly cut grass so much he would save clippings in his pocket to keep that smell with him long after his chore was finished. Guy was known to help out anyone who asked and always willing to help at a moment’s notice. He was amazing at tinkering with anything mechanical and found not using the manual a challenge he gladly accepted as he felt he could do it a better way. He took that challenge to fix any equipment or household repair even if it wasn’t quite “broken” to start, much to the amusement of his family.

Guy’s greatest joy in life, however, was his wife of 28 years, Denise. She made his world even brighter and they were the best of friends and truly a match made in Heaven. Their bond was one of the strongest ever made, and it flowed from them to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everyone in the family knew they could count on Guy to make them laugh and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Guy is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Denise, whom he married on June 10, 1995; sons David and Kevin (Chelsea) Grodi; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Robert Pitzen, Jr., Kathi Kozlowski, Thomas Pitzen, and Gina (Brad) Houk; mother-in-law Susan Miller; sisters-in-law, Lynne (Chris) Rupley and Christine (Robert) Coehrs, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glenn, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Pat and Natalie; nephews, Jason, Glenn, Jr., and Paul; and father-in-law, Jim Miller.
