Grace E. Heninger, 85, of Oregon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013. She was born in Toledo on April 8, 1928 to George and Gladys (Folk) Houser and was a 1946 graduate of Waite High School. She married her true love John “Jack” Heninger on March 27, 1947 and was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church. She was an active member in the Harbor View Yacht Club Auxiliary, the International Satin Gavel and the Euchre Club. She was a retiree from the J. C. Penney Co.
She leaves to honor her memory her beloved husband, Jack; children, Sharon (Tim) Johnson, Karen (John) Rowley, Joann (Tim) Vaughn, John (Kelley) Heninger, James (Pam) Heninger and Robert (Anne) Heninger; 28 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Margie Heninger. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; son, Billy; grandson, Erik and sisters, Eleanor, Agnes and Georgetta.
More than anything Grace loved her family. She taught us the beauty of giving, the importance of family, and dedicated herself to all of us. She enriched all of our lives and gave to us the gift of love. Grace was the ultimate example of how to live.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m. An International Satin Gavel and Harbor View Yacht Club service will take place at 6 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Rd., Toledo, OH 43605, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Lake Township Cemetery.
