Keith passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. He was born in Petersburg, WV on May 15, 1926 and would have been 91 years old this coming May. He was the son of James and Roberta Rader and resided most of his early years in Cumberland, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe in the 3rd Army with the Tank Corp. After the war ended, Keith went back to the B & O Railroad in Cumberland and stayed with the railroad through its mergers for 43 years, serving in Cumberland, MD, Pittsburgh, PA, Baltimore, MD, Cincinnati, OH, Dayton, OH, Toledo, OH, Buffalo, NY and ended his railroad career with the Association of American Railroads in Washington, DC as Assistant to the VP, William Johnston. He was a gifted writer and many of his personal memories of railroading have been published in RABO Magazine.

After retirement from the railroad, he was a real estate agent and broker while living in Manassas, VA and later in Madison, Ohio. The past fifteen years he lived in Leland, NC and in August of 2016 moved to Ohio to be near family.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; six children, Irene Krafcik, Robert Rader, Karen Fisher, James Rader, Donna Ebert and Patrick Rader; sister, Georgia Juanita Weisenmiller; stepchildren, William and Linnie Rogers; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Charlotte, preceded him in death.

In honoring Keith’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 1200 S. Detroit Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43614. Condolences may be made directly to the family by visiting www.freckchapel.com, Oregon, Ohio.
