Gerald "Shorty" Fredrick Helle

Gerald Helle, age 92 of Williston, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at his home

Gerald was born on September 25, 1928 to the late Arthur and Estella (Base) Helle. He worked in shipping and receiving at Glass Tech. Gerald was a football fan, and was dedicated to Ohio State and the Steelers. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed doing yardwork, so his family members’ lawns would be mowed and bushes trimmed before they even had a chance to think about doing it themselves. He loved his family dearly, and cherished every second he got to spend with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Joyce Helkey) Helle; daughter-in-law, Sue; siblings, Elroy and Phyllis; grandchildren, Amy (Tod) Minnick, Kristin Helle, Shad Helle, Annette Dyer, Joel (Alisha) Helle; great-grandchildren, Grady, Gavin, Carly Sue, Megan, Sierra, Cheyenne, Addison, Damien; and great-great-grandchildren, Susan and Kendalynn. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; son, Wayne; and siblings Gaylord, Robert, Don, Betty, Alice, Marion, Delores, and Eileen.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11 AM at Williston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District, 3155 N Genoa Clay Center Rd, Genoa, OH 43430.
