George Patrick Wells, 77, of Curtice and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday October 10, 2012, at his home. He was born in Toledo on February 22, 1935 to Marion E. and Helen M. (Lardner) Wells and was married on October 30, 1966 to Dorothy L. Isabella. George enlisted in the U.S. Navy proudly serving his country then returning home to graduate from Scott High School. In 1957, he graduated from Meat Cutter School but was most proud of his 25 year service as a Firefighter with station No. 3, retiring in 1985 as a Lieutenant.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori (Kenneth) Dorner; grandchildren, Kenneth (Becky) Dorner, Allen Dorner and Destinee Dorner; brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Wells along with several niece and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Perry, Bill, Marion and Ignatius Wells.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 2 - 8 p.m. where the City of Toledo Fire Department will conduct a Last Alarm Service at 7:00 P.M. A scripture service will follow at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
