George Thomas Marshall

George T. Marshall, age 66, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.  He was born on July 25, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Mary (Renda) Marshall.  George was a 1976 graduate of Waite High School.  He worked as a custodian for several places over the years, including Lucas County Children’s Services, Sunshine Children’s Home, and East Toledo Family Center.  He also worked as a security guard at the Toledo Sports Areana events, mainly hockey, concerts, and wrestling.  George loved to support the community and was involved in the East Toledo Junior Football League, group advisor for Toledo Teens, coached girls’ elementary basketball at Eastside Central, and was a member of the Waite High School Boosters.  George was awarded distinguished citizen of the East Toledo Family Center and was an honorary black belt.  He loved to spend time with his family and his Saturday night social club (if you know, you know).  George was an avid Packers, Wolverines, and Wrestling fan.

George is survived by his daughters, Leah Hollyday, Amy Kramer, and Shelly (Jay) Hoffman; grandchildren, Damien, Domanic, Brian, Josh, Kody, Bobby (Grace), Brittany (Matt), and Riley (Caitlyn); great-grandchildren, Remi Jo, and Bowen; and his siblings, Thomas (Dawn), Marvin (LuAnn), Mike (Julie), and Cindy.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marsha; cat, squeak; and his dogs, Casey, and Mickey Finn.  He will be missed by many family and friends.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
