George D. Kosztak

August 31, 1925 — October 26, 2013

George D. Kosztak, 88, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2013.  He was born on August 31, 1925 in Toledo to George and Julia (Szekely) Kosztak.  George worked as a Stationary Engineer for Mercy Hospital for 21 years until retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Rossford Eagles and Toledo Moose Lodges, as well as a member of the Epiphany of the Lord Parish at St. Stephens. In his spare time George enjoyed woodworking and ballroom dancing and was rather accomplished at both.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Roseann Kosztak, children:  Karen “Kaye” (Robert) Cousino, Dan (Wendy) Kosztak, Mary Jo Black and John (Tori) Kosztak; grandchildren, Brian Stork and Dawn Cannon; great-grandchildren, Kyle Cannon, Chandler Cannon, Alec Jaquillard, Cory Stork and Brayden Cowell.  George was preceded in death by his parents.


Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon on Friday, November 1, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. where a scripture service will be held at 6 p.m.  His family will greet guests at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 2 in the Epiphany of the Lord Parish at St. Stephen. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Epiphany of the Lord Parish at St. Stephen.
