George William "Bill" Babcock, Jr.

George William “Bill” Babcock, Jr., 71, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born April 29, 1949 in Fremont, Ohio to George William and Margaret Ann (Walker) Babcock.  He served honorably during the Vietnam War era in the United States Army.  He married the love of his life, Connie, on July 7, 1973 at St. Ignatius Church in Oregon, Ohio and together they spent 47 joyous years.  Bill enjoyed learning all things historical and could often be found watching documentaries on military history. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife, Connie of Toledo, OH; his children Michele Petersen and Jennifer Babcock of Toledo, OH; his grandchildren Cassidy Petersen and Sydney Petersen of Toledo, OH; his siblings David (Robin) Babcock of Chillicothe, OH, Carol Jack of York, PA, and Ronald (Kathy) Babcock of Wayne, OH; his sister and brothers-in-law Diane Trinckler of Oregon, OH Barbara Dille of Curtice, OH, Donald (Pamela) Dille of Oregon, OH and Robert Dille of Walbridge, OH.  Bill is preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Margaret; his brothers-in-law Michael Dille, Robert Jack, Toney Trinckler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lowell and Dorothy (Smith) Dille; and his nephews Michael Babcock and Jason Bischoff.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to any veteran’s service organization
