GARY  LEE  WRAIGHT

Gary L Wraight, 79, of Northwood, Ohio passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. He was born in Toledo on February 7, 1935 to Rexford and Wayva (Higby) Wraight and was a graduate of Holland High School. He attended the University of Toledo and enlisted in the United States Army serving during the Korean War and Vietnam. He received the Korean Service medal with 3 Bronze Stars. Gary was an over the road truck driver for various transportation companies and worked for 20 years with O-I as an Engineer. Gary was a gifted craftsman who enjoyed building boats, sailing and kayaking after his retirement.

He is survived by his best friend and fiancée, Sue Dewar; sons, Jeffery and Rob (Laura) Wraight; grandson, Eric Wraight and sister, Claudia (Mike) Anger. Gary is also survived by Sue’s daughters, Kimberly (Matt) Dewar and Jennifer (Joe) Dewar and her grandchildren, Taylor, Nayvee and Zola. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rexford Wraight, Peggy Leach and Darryl Stipes.

In honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation or services. The family is planning a celebration of Gary’s life at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Area Humane Society.
