Gary Wayne Allred

Gary Wayne Allred age 74 of Toledo passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Toledo Hospital. Gary was born to Jack and Ethel (Miller) Allred on June 11, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1967 graduate of Clay High School where he met his high school sweetheart Kathy (Kohler), they shared 53 years of marriage as best friends and partners. Gary was a driver for Wonder Bread until his retirement and ran the boilers at Central Catholic High School in the evenings. He was a “foodie” and enjoyed German sausage best, his favorite restaurant was Metzger’s in Ann Arbor. Gary loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, hunting (but not killing), and tending to landscaping in his gardens at home. Above all else, Gary was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, sons, and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife Kathy; sons Gary Jr. and Scott; grandson Scottie (Louis) Schiavone, Santana Allred, Vanessa Allred, Emilio Allred,  and Dakota Allred; sisters Sandy Mauter, Margie Bell, and Gina (Patrick) Vincent and many nieces and nephews. His parents, brother Jack Allred II, and sister René Miller preceded him in death.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 2 until 7 p.m. A time of sharing will begin at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
