Franklin Louis Gnepper

July 1, 1929 — November 13, 2012

Franklin L. Gnepper, 83, of Williston, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on July 1, 1929 to Louis and Alice (Goodeman) Gnepper and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, Franklin owned and operated his own heating company and later joined Champion. He retired in 1991 as manager with Tamarack Creek Apartments. He was a volunteer with Allen-Clay Township Joint Fire Department having served as former Assistant Fire Chief. He enjoyed watching college football and loved the outdoors, bird watching and all of natures surprises but most of all he treasured his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Grace (Helle) Gnepper; daughter, Pamela (Tim) Erard; son, Scott (Sue) Gnepper; grandchildren, Tim Jr. (Cristi) Erard, Ken (Stacey) Erard, Mandi (Matt) Rudd, Ryan (Kevin) Erard and Dennis (Ashley) Dixon; great-grandchildren, Gracie Rudd and Hailey Dixon, Ashley, Kenneth and Andrew Erard and siblings, Robert Gnepper, Ruth Damschroder, Art Gnepper and Betty Henry along with many nieces and nephews. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Nelson Gnepper.

Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon where the Allen-Clay Township Joint Fire Department will have the Last Call Service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Freck Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Allen Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Allen-Clay Township Joint Fire Department or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
