Frank L. Duncan

Frank L. Duncan, age 95, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.  He was born on August 18, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Guy and Opal (Snyder) Duncan.  Frank started his career in the U.S. Army Air Corps and transitioned into the Air Force.  He proudly served for 21 years, starting in WWII, then in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, as an aircraft rescue firefighter, retiring March 31, 1967.  Following his military service, he came back to the Toledo area and worked for LOF, for 17 years.  Frank was a member of the Northwood V.F.W., F&AM Paragon Lodge #788, East Toledo High 12, and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In his retirement he enjoyed camping at Fire Lake Campground in Bowling Green, and time with his friends and family. His favorite activity was his local restaurant tour created by his son-in-law Bob.  He went for the food but enjoyed the conversations with the staff and family or friends that joined him.

Frank is survived by his children, Daryl (Jeanette) Duncan, and Melisa (Robert) Koch; grandchildren, Makenzie and Franklin Duncan, Ashley (Cameron) Blackwood, Erik (Stephanie) Koch; great-grandchildren, Rowan Blackwood, Samuel and Stella Koch, and his brother, William Duncan.

Also survived by his honorary children, Jeremy Willis, Tina (Greg) Vance, and Holly (Andrew) Lashaway-Mazur. Honorary grandchildren, Stephanie and Morgan Willis, Hannah (Mark) Vance-Beckhoff and Gracelyn Vance, Isabella and Jocelyn Lashaway; honorary great grandchildren, Winston and Knox Beckhoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 35 years, Donna J. Duncan; sister, Delores Duncan; and his brother, Robert Duncan.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 2-8:00 p.m. where a masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
