Florence Marie West

Florence Marie West age 88 of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday March 8, 2024. Florence was born to August and Emma (Sampson) Warner on February 18, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word. Florence lovingly cared for her big family her whole life. She loved nature and being outside with the birds, flowers and deer. Florence had a surprising taste in music everything from Kenny Rogers to Alice Cooper and was an avid reader enjoying everything Stephen King wrote. When her children were grown, she enjoyed traveling with them. Florence was a fan of Notre Dame Women’s Basketball and Tigers Baseball.

Florence is survived by her husband James; children Kenny (Karen) Crabtree, Deb (Butch) Connally, Bobby West, Beth (Mike) Short, Cindy (Don) Pettit, Jimmy (Misty) West, Emma West and Bryan West; grandchildren Erin, Gus, Travis, Ayla, Gregory, Nikki, David, Dennis, Amanda, Kurstie, Jayden, Rachel, Bobby, Samantha, Austin, Jennah, Lily and Maya; many great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and many nieces, nephews and her beloved cat Tiki. She was preceded in death by her son Denny, parents, and sisters Lillian, Helen, Louise, and Ruth.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
