Firman Nelson Holt

Firman Nelson Holt, 94, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Monday, February 22, 2021.  He was born March 18, 1926 in Richwood, Ohio to Clarence and Louvonda (Evans) Holt, and was one of fourteen children. Firman served honorably in the US Navy during the Second World War.  He returned home and married the love of his life, Betty; a marriage lasting over 70 years.  Firman worked for 12 years as a patrolman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the remainder of his career as a security officer for Libbey-Owens-Ford.  He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his skill as a tinkerer, all-around handyman, and his great love of sport fishing on Lake Erie and its tributaries.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Betty; his children Rick (Holly) and Robin (Jerry); five grandchildren, one brother Darryl, and two sisters, Donna and Martha.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.  Memorial contributions in his name may be made to ProMedica Hospice or Stony Ridge United Methodist Church.  Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel .
