FEDERICO “FRED” S. FLOREZ
Fred S. Florez, 71, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born June 25, 1943 in Dallas, TX to Federico and Tomasa (Sosa) Florez and retired from Textile Leather as a machine operator after 40 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was an avid sports fan cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed fishing. But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Anna Florez; children, Regina (Joe) Moon, Federico, III (Kelly) Florez and Francis (Angie) Florez; grandchildren, Federico, IV and Kel-ci Florez, Joey (Fiancée, Jerrica) and Michael Moon and Dallas and Derek Florez; great-granddaughter, Juliana Moon; siblings, Genaro (Anita) Flores, Bertha (Victor) Olvera, Josephine “Fina” (David) Reinemeyer and John (Mary) Flores; half siblings, Koko, Frank and MariaLuisa Reyes and special dog, Gabby. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Frances Puente and Abe Flores.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 2-9 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Satureday with prayers in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 628 Locust Street, downtown Toledo. Burial will remain private.
