Evelyn Lucille (Durdel) Sandrock

March 21, 1935 — September 3, 2015

Evelyn Lucille Sandrock, age 80, went home to be with her Lord peacefully on September 3, 2015. She spent her last week at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Evelyn was known by many names - Ma, Grandma, Sister, Friend, Rusty, and Red. Her fifteen minutes of fame was when she was featured in the Toledo Blade as the Tiedtke's cheese girl. She never drove a car but put many miles on her bicycle and feet all over East Toledo. She loved to play BINGO, listen to polka music every Sunday and watched it on TV every Saturday night. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.

Evelyn was born March 21, 1935 to Urban and Olive (Sampsel) Durdel in Toledo, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren "Sandy" Sandrock; brother, Robert; sisters, Eileen (Rex Sr.) Leiby, Elaine (Rex Jr.) Leiby and Helen Frisinger; infant children Patty and Danny Sandrock; daughter Cheryl (Jeff) Ziesloft and grandchildren, Danny Lee Vribes Jr. and Rylee Hope Norden. She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Dave) Reynolds; children, Julie (Gordon) Ferrell, Cindy (Glenn) Brittian, Debbie (Mike) Norden, Terry Sandrock and Michael (Nichole) Sandrock; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 4-9 p.m. The funeral service will be the next day at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Elliston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lemoyne Baptist Church Genoa, OH.
