Ethel C. O'Connor

Ethel C. O’Connor, 90, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018.  She was born on September 14, 1927 in Toledo to Michael and Barbara Bartko.  Ethel was a graduate of Whitney High School and married Timothy John O’Connor on September 27, 1948 and together they raised 5 children.  She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, reading and crossword puzzles.  In her spare time, Ethel loved going to the casinos and cheering on her favorite team, the Detroit Tigers.  She will be dearly missed.

Ethel is survived by her children, Tim O’Connor (Connie Cowles), Sandy Sancrant (Lee Whitfield), Debra Haas (Gary), Pat Johnson (Ron), Marlene Barnhart (Scott); grandchildren:  Amy (Craig), TJ (Fran), Sean (Monica), Jon Michael, Jason (Amy), Jennifer, Julie (Craig), Jared, Michele (Bryan), Gary (Chrissy), Angie (Tucker), Ron (Amy) and Tiffany (Tom); sister, Mary; sisters-in-law, Pat, Beth and Vivian and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Timothy John; daughter-in-law, Donna O’Connor and five siblings.

A memorial gathering will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 2 - 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
