Ernest L. Rasar, Sr., 85, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in his home. He was born in Loudon Co., TN on February 4, 1930 to Joseph O. and Essie Mae (Freeman) Rasar and honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Journeyman Roofer for 39 years and was a proud member of the Roofers Local 134 for 64 years. He loved hunting, fishing and working in his garden.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Carol (Morgan) Rasar; children, Dan (Diane) Rasar, Rada Rasar (Jim), Gerrie (Larry) Ingham, Ernest (Peggy) Rasar, Jr., Amy (Mark) Marzec, Beth (Tim) St. John, Jack (Tracey) Rasar; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Gayle) Rasar; sister, Rada Vargas (Andy) and sister-in-law, Dolores Rasar. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lydia Hornyak; an infant granddaughter; parents; brother, Joe Rasar and sister and brother-in-law, Ersa (Robert) Miller.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, December 4, 2015 after 10 a.m. with the Funeral Services to begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
