Elmer M. Kovacs, age 79, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Genesis Healthcare-Perrysburg Center. He was born on September 29, 1933 to Charles and Mary (Kurtolick) Kovacs. Elmer was employed at the City of Toledo Sanitation Department and the Water Reclamation Plant until moving to California over 30 years ago. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #4906 and enjoyed watching the Tigers and buckeyes play. Elmer was an avid history fan and loved being outdoors.
Elmer is survived by his sisters, Irene Shaner and Mary Jane (Nandor) Toth; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Gall.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 29 2013 at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, Ohio from 10 to 11 a .m. where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Stephen Catholic Church.
