Edward A. "Ed" Toth

Edward A. Toth, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2012.  He was born December 13, 1923 in Whitehouse, Ohio, a son of the late Andrew and Susanna (Kutas) Toth.  He served in the United States Army during WWII. Ed worked as a master mechanic for the City of Toledo Police Department, where he retired.  He loved to cook, and also worked in the catering business with his friend, John Packo.

Ed was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4906 and St. Ignatius Church.  He took pleasure in woodworking and the arts, including painting, ceramics, and calligraphy.  In his younger days, he enjoyed motorcycling and took many trips across the country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twelve brothers
and sisters.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Phyllis Ruth (Stephan) Toth; one son, Terrence Edward Toth and his wife Cynthia of Curtice, Ohio; and two daughters, Therese M. Toth of Erie, Pennsylvania and Chrislyn J. Toth of Toledo. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Sarah, Daniel, Jacob, and Kathryn, and four great-grandchildren; Abigail, Elijah, Oliver, and Shiloh.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, on Saturday, June 9th at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of NW Ohio, or to the charity of one's choice.
