March 16, 1923 — March 7, 2017

Edward J. Janick, 93, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Orchard Villa. He was born in Owosso, MI on March 16, 1923 to Stephen and Mary (Sanko) Janick and was a 1942 graduate of Waite High School. Ed proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force as a gunner on B24 Bombers during WWII. After retiring as a Stationary Engineer for the City of Toledo, Ed was able to enjoy the outdoors more, fishing and spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his children, Peggy Day, Edward (Catharine) Janick, Catherine (Bryan Bossert) Janick and John Janick; grandchildren, Tina (Shane) Miller and Charles (Helena) Day, Jeremy and Nathan Bossert and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kameron and Koby Miller, Ashton and AJ Day along with many dear nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Janick and six siblings.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stony Ridge with the family to receive guests one hour prior. The Graveside service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Grelton Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike, Stony Ridge, Ohio 43463.
