Edward Joseph Fajkos

Edward J. Fajkos, age 68, of Toledo, OH passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Campus after a long battle with health conditions on Thursday, August 11, 2022, which was 30 years to the day of his mother’s passing. He was born in Toledo, OH to Edward and Wanda (Fronc) Fajkos on November 20, 1953. He graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in 1972. Edward served in the US Air Force, he worked at Libbey Glass and was a bus and truck driver for many years. Edward was an avid Ohio State University, Detroit Tigers fan, and Washington Capitols fan. His dream was to own a Corvette, which we now hope he is up there driving in style.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Pat; his children, Amanda (Nick) Davis, and Elizabeth (Alex) Shelhart; his 6 adorable grandchildren who brought him the most joy in life, Ayden Fajkos, Mason Davis, Adalynn Davis, Logan Davis, Harper Shelhart, and Quinn Shelhart; his siblings, Lucy Cousino, Barbara Findlow, MaryAnne Reichard, Elaine Lubash, and Fred Fajkos. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Leonard Newis.

Family and friends may visit the  Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in the church narthex at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 729 White Street, Toledo, OH. Edward will be laid to rest at St. Ignatius Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the International WAGR Syndrome Association.
