Edward “Eddie Bob” Blazey
Edward A. Blazey, 83, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 20, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Dorothy Blazey. Edward served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and Christ Dunberger American Legion Post #537. Ed retired in 1996 from Ford Motor Company after 23 years of service. He also was a member of the Damascus/Collingwood Lodge No. 643 F.&A.M. where he became a Shriner- Evzones Greek Temple Guard and member of the Legion of Honor.
Edward is survived by his children: Deborah (James) Bohland, Ann Zakorczennyj, Theresa (Ed) Stull, Roberta (David) Vasquez and Joseph Blazey; 14 grandchildren 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Frances.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue on with the Mass of Christian burial at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
