Edward S. Bartko, 86, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center. He was born on March 28, 1926 in Toledo to Michael and Barbara Bartko. Edward was drafted out of Macomber High School into the U.S. Navy, during WWII. After the war, he worked for the Jeep Corp. and Teledyne for many years, retiring in 1991. He attended night school for 2 years at the Langor Art School and studied water color under Ernie Spring. Ed had won various awards for his paintings.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Vivian; son, Edward (Jerri) Bartko Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer and Cory and his sisters, Mary Jankowski and Ethel O’Conner. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joe and Mike and sisters, Helen and Margaret.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Stephen Majoros at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Locust St at Erie St. Inurnment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Heart Clinic, Heartbeat or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toledo.
