Edith Carter

June 16, 1922 — August 21, 2016

Edith Marie Carter, 94, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Lane Park Assisted Living.  She was born on June 16, 1922 in Oregon, Ohio to Harry and Emma Phillips.  Edith was a graduate of Clay High School and worked as a cashier at Joseph’s Supermarket for many years.  She was a member St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Christ Dunberger American Legion and Past President of Cooley Canal Yacht Club.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl; son, Melvin and siblings, Evelyn, Dale and Glenn.  She is survived by her brother, Lyle (Alice) Phillips; sisters, Bonnie (John) DeStephano and Arlene Ditmyer and grandson, Steven Carter.

Per Edith’s request, private services and burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 20 S. Yondota Rd. Curtice, OH 43412.
