Earl “Doug” Hill

Earl Douglas Hill, 62, of Oregon, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Mercy Health-St. Charles Hospital.  He was born on February 21, 1956 in Chicago, IL to James and Dorothy Hill.  Doug served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman, during the Vietnam War.  He was a handy man by trade, but his passion was the Word of God.  Doug was a teacher and a preacher, helping many people over the years.  Doug was installed as a Bishop of Harvest Apostolic Temple where he and his wife, Dawn were pastors for over 20 years.

Many knew him as a jokester and a dreamer.  He lived life large and had big dreams.  Doug loved music and could play the guitar, harmonica and piano. He entertained many people with his impromptu songs.  Doug enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating and riding four wheelers. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and many nieces and nephews.  He will be dearly missed.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Dawn Hill; his siblings, Carolyn Hill, Glenda Russell, David (Geraldine) Hill and Betty (Ralph) Woosley along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharron Ali.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, February 4, 2019, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Harvest Apostolic Temple.
