Dr. Joseph Frederick Collaco

Dr. Joseph Frederick Collaco was born in 1944 in Mumbai, India, to Joseph Vivian Collaco and Lucy Saldanha. He attended St. Xavier College (Mumbai), St. George College (Mussoorie), St Joseph’s College (Darjeeling), Elphinstone College (Mumbai), and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (Mumbai). He completed internship and residency at St. Charles Hospital (Oregon, OH). He also had an American Cancer Society Fellowship. He practiced emergency medicine at St. Charles Hospital for over 40 years until 2014. He is survived by Dr. Josephine, his wife of over 50 years; children Michael (Aarti), Anne, and Lisa; grandchildren Arjun and Alex; and siblings Jean, Alan, Iona, Sandra, Ivan, and Kevin. Fond regards to Jill Jackson, Kelly Clark, and Cindy Upham for longstanding friendship and support.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, OH, on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wounded Warriors or the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.
