Douglas Edward Thompson, age 60, of Toledo, OH, passed away at Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. He was born in Toledo, OH on October 26, 1963 to Robert and Elizabeth Thompson. Doug graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, OH in 1982 and went to Sound Engineer School in Chillicothe, OH. He was an avid fan of the U of M Wolverines, the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Yankees. His happy places were camping, going to Florida, fishing, playing guitar, and running in Pearson Metropark after work each day. To those who knew him, he enjoyed spending time with his “Garage Crew” and the wonderful memories of Pie Night. Doug had an infectious smile and an attitude that everything was good and fixable so stay positive. His love will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Doug is survived by his wife, Tracy, together for 37 years and married for 34 years; his daughters, Melody, Leah, and Andrea; his sister, Laura (Daniel) Jeremy; and aunt, Susan (Edward) Ramasocky; his best friends, Joe, Steve, Sasha, and Dale; and many cousins, extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Jimmy Lambert; infant son, Brandon Wesley Thompson; and faithful companion, Jasper.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, OH on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service and sharing of memories held at 3:00 p.m. Casual dress is encouraged. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Little Blessings Veteran and Community Outreach, 5725 W Sterns Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI 49267.
