Douglas Horne, age 73, of Northwood passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 in Oregon, Ohio. He was born on September 26, 1939 in Painsville, Kentucky to Richard and Elsie (Butcher) Horne. Doug graduated from Kenton High School and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Findlay University and a Master degree in accounting from O.S.U. He was employed as a Tool and Die supervisor for 35 years retiring from Chrysler in 2007. In his spare time he enjoyed playing guitar, banjo and golfing. Doug loved traveling to Arizona and was one of the biggest Ohio State fans you could have ever met.
Doug in survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Anna Horne; children, Charles Griffith, Libby (Chuck) Howard and Douglas Horne Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew, Andrea and Aaron Howard; mother, Elise Horne; siblings Earl (Kay) Horne, Marsha (Frank) Dorsten and Claudia Brown. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Doris Stanley.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral chapel that same day at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or funeral chapel to assist his family.
