Douglas Theodore Harold

February 28, 1936 — June 7, 2020

Harold, Douglas Theodore, age 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away June 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born February 28, 1936 to Theodore and Mildred (Miller) Harold in Toledo, Ohio.  He grew up on the east side of Toledo where he graduated from Waite High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served honorably from 1954-1958, being stationed in Hawaii and Japan.  He married the love of his life, Anna Mae Osenbaugh and together they were married for thirty and a half years.  He was employed throughout the years with Interlake Steel, Koppers and Toledo Coke for twenty-eight years until the business was closed.  From there was employed in maintenance for twenty-seven and a half years working with his wife, Anna, who managed Village Green Apartments in Bowling Green, Ohio and greatly enjoyed their time working with the students.  He joined the Jolly Rogers Sailing Club on May 23, 1967. He loved to go racing at the regatta’s in his Catalina 22, The Restless One (1977) and was a past commodore in 1971.  He was an avid bowler, having bowled for several years in the AYC League and the Eagles Mixed Doubles.  He was a member of Eagles 197 until they closed and then joined the Rossford Eagles.  He enjoyed snowmobiling in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with his nephew Mark Wooden, sister-in-laws Mary and Sharon and best friends Kelly and Brian Fodor.  The family wishes to thank his sister-in-law Mary and hospice for being of great assistance.  Douglas is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Phyllis Harold.  He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Mae; children Matthew Harold, Joel (Anita) Harold, Tim Groll, Rob (Shelly) Groll, and Paula (Ron) Mowery; grandchildren Ashley (Justin), Jessalyn (Brian), Nick (Rylee), Allison (Allen), Sean (Sarah), Brian, Lily and Lila; great-grandchildren Breanna, Elias, Eliyah, Leticia, Gianna, Trenton, Tristan, Mike and Liam.  He will be truly missed by all.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd Oregon, OH 43616 on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM with military funeral honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Services of Toledo.
