Dorothy Mae Chancey, 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Parkcliffe Community at Northwood. She was born on April 23, 1923 in Oregon, Ohio to Ernest and Beatrice Shaw. Dorothy was a graduate of Clay High School and worked there as a secretary for 30 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was known to be very good with her hands, always crocheting, quilting and China painting. In her spare time she loved to read.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Sanders and Howard Chancey and sister, Helen Shovar. She is survived by her friend and companion, Charlie Schroeder; extended family, Blanche (Clarence) Bocook and family and Marilyn (Fred) Brown and family.
Friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, Ohio on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice.
