Donald Wayne Truman

Donald Wayne Truman, age 64, of Northwood, OH, passed away at home quietly in his sleep on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was born March 2, 1959, in Hillsdale, MI.  Survived by beloved wife, Glenna; sons Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, and Nathan; step-sons Tyler and Steven Takats; twin brother Ron (Joyce); brothers Steve and Rob (Kathy); sister Connie; brothers-in-law Gary (Sandra) Fruchey, and Jason; sisters-in law Gloria and Gaya Fruchey; Aunts Marcia Harvey and Penny Truman, many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.  Preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Betty Truman, and sister, Joanie.

Don was a graduate of Parkside High School and was a welder by trade.  He followed his twin into the Navy but was honorably discharged for a medical condition.   He loved to camp, go four-wheeling in their jeep, and counted on his twin to be his co-conspirator in pranks, like switching places to see if people could notice.  If you were a recipient of a “twin-hug”, you were special indeed.  Don shared an extraordinary relationship with Glenna.  They complimented each other and made each other whole.    Glenna and her sons completed his family.  Glenna was an amazing caretaker the last couple of years and the family is forever grateful for her love and care.  Don was a loving and compassionate man who will be greatly missed.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service held at 6:00 p.m.  A memorial service is planned for September 9, 2023, at 11:00 am at Central Wesleyan Church, 119 N. Webster, Jackson, MI. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
