Donald Lee Sharp, Sr., 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Orchard Villa Care and Rehabilitation. He was born on October 29, 1925 in Cygnet, Ohio to Floran and Alice Sharp. After graduating high school in California, Don served in the U.S. Navy, during WWII. He retired as a custodian for Sacrament California City Schools. Don loved to travel and was a fisherman at heart. He was often known for telling his fishing stories.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita; brothers, William and Lewis; son, Ronald Sharp; daughters, Juanita Baum and Zorra Sharp; grandsons, Thomas Sharp Jr. and Randy Sharp Jr.; great-grandson, Keith Sharp Jr., great-great-grandson, Miklo Hamilton and daughter-in-law, Gloria Sharp.
Donald is survived by his first love, Helen J. Coulter; sons, James Sharp, Robert (Laura) Sharp, Thomas (Cindy) Sharp, Dale (Karen) Sharp, Donald Sharp, Jr., Randy (Robin) Sharp and Gordon (Stephanie) Sharp; daughters, Debra (Charles) Wilkes, Rose Mary Sheaves and Theresa Sharp; 27 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and his 2nd wife, Mary Sharp.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 10-2 p.m. where services will be held at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
