Donald C. Moore, 80, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Bay Park Community Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1932 in Toledo, Ohio to Clarence and Emma (Sherman) Moore. Don served in in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. After serving in the Army he married his wife, Nancy and together they raised 4 children. He worked for Libbey Owens Ford in the Plastic Dept. for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Don was a woodworker; he enjoyed making toys for children and building bird houses. In his spare time he was often found feeding birds and deer in the yard and he was also known for recycling cans.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy; children: Cynthia Rickman, Mitchell Moore and Donald (Janet) Moore; daughter-in-law, Janice Moore; grandchildren: Teonna, Brittany, Cody, Donald “Deeg”, Tiffany, Mitchell, Marissa, Justin and Jettie and 9 great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; grandson, T.J.; daughter-in-law, Deb; brother, Robert Moore and his sister, Barbara Paquette.
Friends and family may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, OH on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. where veterans service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
