Donald Joseph Koenig

Donald Joseph Koenig, age 84, of Northwood, OH, passed away at Mercy St. Charles Hospital on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was born in Toledo, OH, to Joseph and Alice (Onnega) Koenig on October 19, 1939. Don served in the US Army during the Korean War. Later in life, he was employed for many years as an inspector for the General Motors Corporation. He enjoyed tinkering, woodworking, fishing as often as he could, and camping at Casual Country Campground. He will be remembered fondly by those who knew and loved him.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his children, Cindy (Chris), Laura, Ron (Molly), Don (Connie), Todd (Anna), and Tedd (Alice); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his cousin Bill (Cathy) Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice; and his aunts, Edna and Esther.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Rd, Northwood, OH, on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior in the church narthex. Don will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Northwood, OH.
