DONALD  TODD  HART

Donald T. Hart of Curtice, OH died at age 75 at UTMC on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He was born on May 4, 1937 to Raymond and Ruth (Todd) Hart and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a long time employee of Riverside Hospital where he worked as a boiler operator, retiring in 1996.  Don was an avid sports fan, especially supporting his favorite teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Browns.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, going to the movies and the casino. Don looked forward to a yearly trip with his brothers and sister and wife to the Covered Bridge Festival.  He enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at McDonald’s every week. Don loved his granddaughters and attended all of their cheerleading, basketball, softball & soccer games and horseback riding events.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth & Raymond Hart and siblings, Patricia (Ted) Gallman, Delores Gehringer, Clarence R. “Buck” Hart, James Hart, and Richard Hart. He is survived by his wife, Virginia M. Hart of 46 years of marriage; by his sons, Todd Hart, James (Annette Scott) Hart, John (Teresa) Hart; former daughter-in-law, Tina (Hart) Walsh; granddaughters, Tiffany, Brittani, Mallory, Carlee and Catelyn Hart; great-granddaughter, Tessa Hart; siblings, David (Linda) Hart, Faith (Pat) Schuldt-Timiney, Thomas (Karen) Hart, Robert (Kathy) Hart; brother-in-law, Phil “Sonny” Gehringer and sisters-in-law, Nancy Fisher and Denise (Ricky) Frazier along with many nieces and nephews.


Friends and family may visit from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Clay High School Athletic Booster Club or a charity of the donor’s choice.
