Dolores Jeanne Newis

Dolores Jeanne Newis, age 96, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, on Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was born on April 25, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Robert G. and Mary Ida (Swartz) Hatfield.

Jeanne was a 1946 graduate of St. Ursula Academy. Throughout her life, Jeanne was deeply involved in her faith. She was a respected member of St. Thomas Aquinas, where she contributed her time as part of the Altar & Rosary Society. Most recently, she was a parishioner at Saint Rose Catholic Church.

In addition to her religious involvement, Jeanne volunteered at St. Charles Hospital for over 20 years.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Marcia (Ron) Harris, Mary Pat Fajkos, Carol (Bill) Hinsch, Terrie (Tom) Rawlins, Sharon (Gary) Egnatz, Philip (Jackie) Newis, and John (Melinda) Newis; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Daney; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Leonard Newis; sister, Mary Fandrey; brother, John Hatfield; and son-in-law, Ed Fajkos.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 10:30 am – 11:30 am, at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Jeanne’s funeral Mass will take place at 11:30 am.
