Dolores M. Atherton, 81, of Toledo, passed away on March 29, 2013, at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was born in Toledo on November 8, 1931 to Virgil and Dolores G. (Bovee) Fitch and worked as an admitting clerk for Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She also worked in the ER and as a transcriber. In her spare time she enjoyed family reunions, going to casinos, crocheting, playing cards and vacationing at White Birch Haven in Canada.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Cline, Sandra Garcia, Cynthia (Tony) Mersing, Robert (Mindy) Atherton and Stephen (Dawn) Atherton; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and brother, Allan (Jane) Fitch; sons-in-law, John Nihiser and Eddie Garcia; sisters-in-law, Lorna Fitch and Carol Novak; and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Atherton; son, Thomas Everhardt; and brothers, Richard and James Fitch and son-in-law, Robert Cline Sr.
Friends and family may visit from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
