Dennis “Bucky” Buchanan

Dennis M. Buchanan, 59, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center.  He was born on January 29, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Caroline Buchanan.  Dennis was a graduate of Macomber High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.  Dennis worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for over 25 years. He served as a representative for the A.F.L.C.I.O. at the local, state and national level for 20 years.  Dennis was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and served at Union Steward for over 20 years.  He was also a lifetime member of the Northwood V.F.W. #2984.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Caroline Buchanan; sisters, Christine (Dennis) Marchal and Debbie Buchanan; many nieces, nephews and special friends, Paul and Sue Jaros.  He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Diane and brother, Chuck.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Willow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
