David A. Yates

David A. Yates, 66, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born on July 5, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to Leonard and Dorothy Yates.  David was a 1972 graduate of Waite High School.  He worked as a key operator for Great Lakes Window for many years.  David married his wife, Sherry on September 8, 2004.  He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football fan.  David enjoyed taking care of his yard and listening to Elvis.  He will be dearly missed.

David is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Michelle (Shane) Yates-Burkey, Kelly (Bobby) Lytten, Justin Yates, and Jennifer (David) Sunderman; grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie), Aaron (Chrissy), Abbigail (Antoine) Sean (Guadalupe), Alexandria (Nate), Ezekial, Jason, Madison, Kedan, Devon, Luke, Dillian, Logan, Kayleigh, Hannah, Emma, and Isacc; great-grandchildren, Adelita, Bobby, Blake, Nevaeh, Jaiden, Selena, Avangeline, Max, Adelya, and Andrew; siblings, Thomas (Carol) Phipps; Mike Yates, , Julie (Ron) Morse, and Spencer (Stephanie) Yates.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christina Yates; first wife, Debbie; and siblings, Mary Rickman, Leonard “Howdy” Yates, Jr., Sharon Lynch, Marjorie Rydman and John “Butch” Rydman.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 8 at the home starting at 1:00 p.m.  Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, May 9, 2021, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Willow Cemetery.
