David Lawrence Swartz

David Lawrence Swartz age 59 of Toledo passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at home. David was born to Lawrence and Joan (Duerk) Swartz on June 3, 1963, in Oregon, Ohio. He was a 1981 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Owens. David was larger than life and never met a stranger. He did everything because of his love for his children who were the light of his life. David was currently President of Armada Logistics, Inc. a transportation company he began in 2018. Before Armada, he co-founded Premium Transportation Logistics LLC. and Premium Freight Management LLC. in 2002. David was the kind of leader who valued everyone in his operations from top to entry-level he was always offering support and interest in everyone’s well-being and lives. He was the most generous man with the greatest heart, he was trustworthy loving, and kind. David loved a good cigar and drink, getting outdoors to hunt or fish, had the ugliest golf swing, enjoyed martial arts, and he was a lifelong hockey player and coach. David loved his schnauzers, Gus and Lady. He often said “I am not here for a long time, I am here for a good time”

David is survived by his sons Brandon (Nadjana) Rodgers, Corey (Andrea) Swartz, and Elliott Swartz; daughter Vada Swartz; grandchildren Alexia Rodgers, Kayleigh and Colle Back; sisters Karen Swartz and Beth (Mike) O’Shea; mother of Elliott and Vada, Kristie Swartz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Joan Swartz and his brother Steve Swartz.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, June 8 2023 from 2 until 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 30 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord- St. Thomas Aquinas 729 White St. Toledo where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. David was a very charitable man, always giving where he could. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Francis de Sales High School Foundation, Epiphany- St. Thomas, or the Greater Toledo Humane Society.
