Dave was a graduate of Lake High School Class of 1961. He played football and basketball while in high school. Dave loved to work on cars and he was a great mechanic. He worked at Surface Combustion. Dave also ran a gas station in Gibsonburg, Ohio and a gas station in Woodville, Ohio. Dave worked for 19 years at LOF. Then he moved on to work for Colton Chemical for 5 years finally working for E.S. Wagner Construction where he retired on January 1, 2011.
Dave was a member of the Rossford Eagles. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping at the Country Campgrounds and various area parks with friends and family. David loved to go to St. Pete’s Beach in FL. His all-time favorite recreational enjoyment was playing poker and gambling at casinos. He loved fishing on the lake with his family and friends. A special highlight for Dave was watching granddaughter, Maddy play soccer.
On October 17, 1981, on Sweetest Day, Dave married Barbara Baranoski. They would have celebrated their 32nd Anniversary. For all those years, Dave attended Catholic Church with Barb and finally was anointed Catholic while in the hospital. He was so excited to finally take communion. Dave and Barb moved back to Walbridge, OH to his original stomping grounds of his high school days. Dave was a very loving family oriented man. He was a man of very few words but deep emotions.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Tamra (Bob) O’Neil, Victoria (Carlos) Rios, Linda (Tom) Doering, Suzanne (Ray) Weis and Julie Baranoski; son, Steven (Patti) Baranoski; sisters, Judy Herman and Bonnie (Tom) Newby; brothers-in-law, Robert (Maggie) Ballard, Willard (Nancy) Ballard, Allen (Diane) Miller and Louise (Red) McClain; grandchildren, Mitchell, Blake and Matt (Cassie) O’Neil, Ashlie (Tom) Gallagher, Jude (Jim) Jensen, Christie (Daniel) Quisno, Nicholas (Sarah) Yanez, Thomas (Tracy), Anthony, R.J., Katlynn, Gracie Weis, Amanda (Jerry) Muncy, Christopher and Madeline Hines and Justin Baranoski; eleven great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. Dave requested that his nephew, Father John Herman, conduct his final Mass. The family would like to thank Jennifer Fryman, RN and Theresa for all your care and Help. “Farewell to my loving buddy and companion, Hobo”. Dave was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Baranoski and brother-in-laws Jack Herman and Ted Smith.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 and Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 3-9 p.m. where the scripture service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Visitation will continue after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at Epiphany of the Lord Parish at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Cherry Street Mission Ministries.
