David Richard Oleneck

David Richard Oleneck age 83 of Port Clinton and formerly of Toledo passed away February 22, 2024 at Stein Hospice. David was born to Edward and Grace Oleneck in Swanton, Ohio on November 3, 1940. He graduated from Whitmer High School and studied Liberal Arts at the University of Toledo. David served our country in the U.S. Army. After returning home he began his apprenticeship with the Local 50 Pipefitters retiring in 2001 and recently earning his 55+ pin. He retired to Port Clinton to fish and enjoyed gardening, an interest he developed working in his family’s greenhouses as a young man. David loved to travel all over the country, especially on his motorcycle.

David is survived by his wife of 43 years Derri; children Amy and Brad and their extended families; sisters Becky, Judy, and Roxanne and many friends from Port Clinton and Northwest Ohio. He was preceded in death by his son Brent and his parents.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Wounded Warriors Project.
