David was born in Toledo, Ohio to Cyril and Marguerite Notheis on July 28, 1941 and passed away on March 12, 2025, leaving behind a family that loved him dearly. A hardworking and dedicated man, David spent years at Columbia Gas and was former owner of The Paris Nightclub. He was a man of strong opinions and had a deep love for his family.
Whether he was watching Notre Dame football, enjoying a round of golf on TV, or sharing his no-nonsense wisdom, his presence was a steady force in the lives of those who knew him. David found joy in escaping Ohio winters and spending time in Florida with Mama. He also loved a competitive poker game with buddies. David had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Bia and Maxie, who rarely left his side and brought him endless companionship.
David is survived by his sisters, Pat (Jim) Cousino and Victoria (John) Meyer; children, Dawn Notheis, David Notheis Jr., Karl (Jackie) Notheis, Susan (Terry) Oneail, and Patricia (Jerry) Cooper; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. His family will forever remember his unwavering work ethic, and the way he always showed up when it mattered most.He is reunited in peace with those who went before him—his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy; parents, Cyril, Marguerite and Alice; sister, Charlene Dee; brother Michael Notheis; daughters, Cheryl Kellerbauer and Janis Corns; nephew Christopher Gargac and grandson David Corns Jr.
A service to honor David’s life will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Oh on Saturday 3/22/25, 12-3 pm with a memorial service starting at 3 pm, followed by a celebration of life at Dunberger Post. Guests are encouraged to wear Fighting Irish apparel in his honor.
