David James Cross

DAVID JAMES CROSS

David James Cross, age 58, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was born June 23, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio and was a retired Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker with Local Union 33  for over 30 years. He Graduated from Waite High School and grew up in East Toledo. He married Kim French in 1985, divorced in 1997. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints in Perrysburg, OH where he served in various positions, and he always wanted to volunteer for everything. David loved to be outside camping and fishing with his family. He was the Assistant Scout Master of Troop #231 which brought him great joy. He loved to do his family history and trace his roots. David was a soft spoken giant who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn Cross, whom he married Dec. 07, 2009. David is also survived by his children, son, Joseph (Patty) Zacharias of Toledo OH; stepson, Stewart  “Alex” Sant (Brandi) of SLC, UT, Maggie (Chris) Young of Del, OK, Elyse M. Whitaker of SLC., UT; grandchildren, Daxton, Easton, Eli and Lylah; brother, Lewis (Jeanne) Cross of Memphis, TN and sister, Carol Zacharias (Lonnie) of East Toledo as well as many loving nieces and nephews.   David was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis E. Cross and Ruby I. Brown.

Family and friends may visit after 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11050 Avenue Road (795), Perrysburg, OH 43551 where the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery in Millbury, Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, Ohio.
