David Antonacci

David “Nose” Antonacci

David Daniel Antonacci, age 90, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at MercyHealth-St. Vincent Medical Center.  He was born on October 26, 1932 in Dillonvale, Ohio to Leucio and Edna (Morelli) Antonacci.  Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War.  He worked as a long shoreman at Toledo World Terminal for 42 years, retiring in 2001.  Dave was a member of Korean War Veterans, Arthur Daly Post 334, the Eagles in Dillonvale, Ohio and Short Creek Sportsman Club in Adena, Ohio.

David loved to teach his grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to live off the land.  He taught them how to garden, hunt, fish, and collect cans for recycling.  Dave loved to go walnut picking with family and turtle trapping with his best friend, Buck.  He always liked being told he was a good-looking man.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

David is survived by his children, David E. Antonacci, Edna (Albert) Hilt, Leucio Antonacci, Christine, John (Robinne) Antonacci, and Janet Jacobs; grandchildren, Melissa (Don Mercer) Fitch, Ryan (Lindsey) Antonacci, Jamie Hilt, Daniel (Heather Padilla) Hilt, Kristian Hilt, Albert (Lindsay) Hilt III, Kayla Hilt, Shelby (Matt) Almester, Shane Antonacci, Lindsey Antonacci, Georgia Peach Antonacci, Tonee (Jason Dick) Jacobs, Joey (Lindsey) Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Kenzie Fitch, Gianna and Roman Antonacci, Jimmy and Jillian Cook, Brooklynn and Nakel Hilt, Hunter, Boomer, and Willow Hilt, Izabella and Elijah Hilt, Jayden and Brielle Dick, Leah, Reece and Allie Jacobs; brother, Louis Antonacci; and special friends, Diane Smith and the Milroy Avenue family. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian; siblings, Clarence “Boots” Antonacci, Mary Fowler, Yolanda Hazelinski, Elizabeth Bower, Ceclia Brado, and Angelo Antonacci; son-in-law, Chris Jacobs; and special daughter-in-law, Laurie Mims.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 2-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
